"When you learn, teach. When you get, give.”-Maya Angelou
Simple, elegant, yet so full of meaning. The quote above is the quote that BLMS Robotics lives by. We learn life skills and engineering technics, which we then teach to other people. We have recieved such a great oppurtunity to learn robotics, thanks to FIRST, and as a result, we feel that it is our duty to give back to the community. Below are some of the events we have done over the past few years, as of 2025:
1. The Salmon Days event in Issquah, Washington, where we hosted a booth for FTC and gave children a hands on expierence on our robot and encouraging them to join FIRST.
2. The science fairs in elemetary schools in Issaquah School District, where we host booths that include our robot, as well as posters explaining where we come from and our mission.
3. Lets face it: FTC is expensive. To help our club advisor raise more money for buying to parts and other equipment, we raise fundraisers, such as a "Movie Night" at our school, as well as baking cookies for different festivals throughout Washington State.
4. At our school, we not only have FTC teams, we also have FLL teams. So, to endeavor to help the younger students, we have sent an FTC member over every meeting they have to mentor them and help them gain better knowledge of robotics.
